Clinic Staff

Tom

Thomas Eggleton, PT, DPT, MS: Owner

Thomas Eggleton received his B.S. in Physical Therapy in 1973 his M.S. in Physical Therapy in 1978 from the University of Southern California and his DPT in 2003 from Rocky Mountain University. His post graduate studies include extensive work in Manual Therapy, Sports Medicine, Craniomandibular Disorders, Pain Control and Work Rehabilitation. Mr. Eggleton has presented post-graduate research papers and taught over 100 post-graduate professional courses, both nationally and internationally, in the areas of orthopedics and manual therapy. He is presently a consultant in head, neck, and facial pain to the Clinical Research Foundation, and an Associate Clinical Professor at the University of Southern California. Mr. Eggleton is co-author of a functional anatomy text on the head, neck and temporomandibular joint and contributing author on two textbooks on evaluation and treatment of CMD. He is an active member of the American Physical Therapy Association and the Orthopedic, Aquatic, Geriatrics, Private Practice and Women's Health sections.

Dennis_Grey

Dennis Langton, PT, BS, OMPT: Owner

Dennis Langton received his B.S. degree in Health Education and Physical Therapy in 1973 from the University of Utah. His post graduate studies include a wide variety of advanced clinical courses in the areas of Manual Therapy, Sports Medicine, Neurology, Craniomandibular Disorders, and Work Rehabilitation. Mr. Langton has presented over 30 post graduate research papers and taught over 100 post-graduate professional courses, both nationally and internationally, in the areas of orthopedics, manual therapy, orthotics and prevention education. He is presently a consultant in head, neck, and facial pain to the Clinical Research Foundation, and an Associate Clinical Professor at the University of Southern California. Mr. Langton is co-author of a functional anatomy text on the head, neck and temporomandibular joint and contributing author on two textbooks on evaluation and treatment of CMD. He is an active member of the American Physical Therapy Association and the Orthopedic, Private Practice, Aquatics, Geriatrics, Women's Health and Health Policy and Administration sections. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of the California Physical Therapy Association and as a Trustee of APTA-PAC.

Sandra

Sandra Daniels Physical Therapist and Clinic Director, La Mesa

Sandra joined the E&L Associates Physical Therapy team in October 2000, working in the Chula Vista Office. She came to E&L after receiving her Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy from Daemen College, with a minor in Special Education. Sandra has since demonstrated extensive skill in patient care and is currently working as the clinic director of the La Mesa clinic.

Sandra has continued to expand her knowledge in all aspects of orthopedic manual treatment through multiple continuing education courses and received certification from the American Physical Therapy Association as an OCS, or Orthopedic Clinical Specialist, in July of 2009. Sandra is considered a specialist in the treatment of the lumbo-sacral complex as well as the upper cervical spine and TMJ. Sandra is an active participant in physical therapy matters and is the vice chair of the California District of the APTA.

Sandra, who loves sports and the weather in San Diego, is a valued member of the E&L team and will gladly answer any questions regarding patient care in the La Mesa clinic.

Alicia

Alicia Ryden BS, MPH, Master Clinical Therapist

Alicia has 37 years of experience as a Physical Therapist in Orthopedic physical therapy, Manual Therapy, Sports, Pediatric, Occupational Medicine (Industrial PT) and Women's Health. She received her Bachelor of Science degree with Honors in Physical Therapy from the University of Michigan in 1970. Alicia's skills and background as a physical therapist have earned her the designation of Orthopedic Manual Therapist (OMT).

Prior to E&L Associates, she worked in multiple outpatient clinics, most recently at an outpatient physical therapy clinic and an on-site service industrial physical therapy clinic at Teledyne Aeronautical and for Marriott Hotels. Additionally, Alicia received her Master's degree in Public Health from San Diego State University.

Alicia is an active member of the American Physical Therapy Association, American Public Health Association, and the Arthritis Foundation Allied Health Professions Section, all of which help her in retaining the most advanced, up to date information in the field of physical therapy. Alicia has received additional education in Type 2 Diabetes, Chronic Foot Disorders, Lower Extremity Total Joint Replacement, and the Burdenko method of Aquatic Therapy and has authored 12 publications. When she is not working, Alicia loves to be active and has climbed Mt. Fuji just to watch the sunrise over the lake. E&L is proud to have an invaluable therapist to assume the responsibilities of Master Clinical Therapist in our La Mesa Center.

Brandon

Brandon Irons MPT, BS, Physical Therapist

Brandon joined the E&L team in June of 2010, shortly after graduating from California State University, Northridge with a Masters of Physical Therapy. Brandon earned his Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Pre Physical Therapy from San Diego State University in 2006. Brandon specialized in athletic/sports physical therapy during his multiple internships working towards his Master's.

Since his hire in June of 2010, Brandon has been an integral part of the E&L patient care team and works with patients in both our La Mesa and Eastlake Centers where he has demonstrated extensive skill and ability in both orthopedic and manual therapy including post rehabilitation programs. Brandon looks forward to furthering his education in manual treatments through continuing education courses and the mentorship of both Tom Eggleton DPT, and Dennis Langton PT.

When not at work, Brandon is a fan of everything San Diego has to offer, from surfing to snowboarding up north, but above all, Brandon is a big all-around sports fan. Brandon is committed to helping every patient heal and get back to their full capacity and continues to be a special part of the amazing work that continues within the cutting edge E&L team.

Krista

Dr. Krista Alvarez DPT, BS, Physical Therapist, Clinical Supervisor, Chula Vista

Dr. Alvarez began her career with E&L as an aide in 2002. During her time as an aide, she received her B.S. in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Physical Therapy from SDSU in 2004. Krista excelled for 4, eventually being promoted to Senior Rehab Aide before leaving E&L to attend Loma Linda University where she received her Doctor of Physical Therapy in 2009. Krista has attended multiple co-ed courses for aquatic therapy, TMJ, and effective management.

Following her graduation, E&L was pleased to have Krista return and assume the responsibilities as a full-time Staff Therapist and Clinic Director in the Chula Vista office. Krista has excelled in her clinical abilities in the office and supplements her time at the office with time spent volunteering with wheel chair basketball and local high school gymnastics teams. Krista plans to continue her education and specialize in vestibular rehabilitation as well as work toward receiving her OCS.

When not overseeing therapy in the Chula Vista Center, Krista is a fan of NASCAR and enjoys sports, hiking, riding dirt bikes, swimming, or snowboarding. Krista will always be willing to answer any questions about patient care in the Chula Vista Center.

Mark

Dr. Mark Shulman DPT, BS, CSCS, Physical Therapist

Dr. Shulman earned his Bachelor's of Science in Rehabilitation Science from Northeastern University in 2009 before going on to complete the Physical Therapy program there in 2010, earning his Doctor of Physical Therapy.

Mark has been around physical therapy for over five years, working as a therapist aide for four years at Furnace Brook Physical Therapy. Beyond his time as an aide Mark worked as a clinical student at both Gold Coast Physical Therapy in Lake Worth, Florida, and at Mercy Medical Center in Rockville Center, New York. Mark was an avid student, serving as the teacher's assistant for two years in his Neuro- anatomy class, and one year in his gross anatomy class. Mark's excitement and commitment to physical therapy continues at E&L today, where he was hired in June of 2010, and has worked since in Chula Vista.

Mark's plans include pursuing an FAAOMPT in addition to enhancing his knowledge of multiple orthopedic techniques. When not working Mark enjoys golfing, cheerleading, or exercising, and can always offer a good suggestion on fun places to travel around the world. Mark is an integral part of E&L's cutting edge team in the Chula Vista Center.

Jessica

Jessica Valentine MPT, BS, Physical Therapist

Jessica Valentine came to E&L upon completion of her Master's Program in Physical Therapy at California State University, Northridge, in June of 2010. She received her Bachelor's of Science in Kinesiology and Pre-Physical Therapy in May of 2007 from San Diego State University.

Jessica is proactive and dedicated to gaining as much experience as she can. One of the greatest experiences of her career so far was an internship in Da Nang, Vietnam, in January of 2009 where she worked in the Da Nang Orthopedics and Rehabilitation Hospital. A member of the American Heart Association on CPR, Jessica is a valuable member of the E&L patient care team. She plans on going on to receive her OCS as time will allow her.

When not working in the Chula Vista office, Jessica enjoys wakeboarding, snowboarding, exercising, and to travel. Jessica is a valuable member of the cutting edge team that continues to deliver patient care every day in E&L's Chula Vista Center.

Lindsay

Lindsay Koller DPT, BS, Senior Physical Therapist, Clinic Supervisor, Poway

Dr. Koller received her Bachelor of Science in Exercise Physiology and Rehabilitation Sciences from Slippery Rock University. Afterward she continued her education, receiving her Doctor of Physical Therapy from Nova Southeastern University in August of 2008. Lindsay increased her knowledge through internships in Sports Medicine and Dance Rehabilitation in New York City.

Right after graduation from Nova Southeastern University Lindsay began at E&L Physical Therapy in October of 2008. After showing outstanding patient care skills, she accepted the role of Clinical Supervisor in the Poway Center, where she works today. Lindsay loves working with people and is currently working on becoming a certified Mulligan Practitioner.

Lindsay is a well rounded individual and enjoys all that life has to offer, namely rock & roll marathons, and is a frequent participant in figure competitions. Lindsay works hard to serve the people in the Poway area and will be happy to answer any questions about patient care at E&L.

Lauren

Lauren Redon MPT, BS, Physical Therapist, Clinic Supervisor, Eastlake

Lauren has over nine years experience as a Physical Therapist in outpatient orthopedic rehabilitation. Before coming to E&L, Lauren worked in multiple outpatient clinics across the country from Chicago, Illinois to Houston, Texas where she gained tremendous experience in treating patients of different backgrounds. She received her Bachelor of Science in Exercise and Sports Science from Pennsylvania State University in 1997. Following her graduation, Lauren continued on to Physical Therapy School at Duke University where she graduated with a Masters of Physical Therapy in 2000.

Lauren began working with E&L in March, 2007 as Director of Rehab at the Eastlake Office and has showed continued expertise in orthopedic and manual therapy techniques since. E&L is proud to have a therapist like Lauren supervising the treatment of patients in the Eastlake Central area.

Lauren loves the outdoors and is taking advantage of her new surroundings here in San Diego and takes every opportunity to spend time with her husband and dog hiking, sailing, and taking long walks through Balboa Park. Lauren will happily answer any question regarding patient care in the Eastlake office.

Joanne Wagenbrenner MOMT, CHT, Physical Therapist, Hand Specialist

Joanne has over 28 years of experience in orthopedic manual therapy and outpatient rehabilitation during which time she has constantly strived to continue her education as the field has progressed. Joanne received her certificate in physical therapy from the Mayo School of Allied Health in 1981. She received her Masters of Orthopedic Manual Therapy in 1992 from the Ola Gama Institute.

After continued work and studying while in the field of manual therapy, Joanne completed her Doctoral Dissertation on "Demonstrating the Effectiveness of Longitudinal Soft Tissue Mobilization of the Extensor Forearm to Improve Tissue Flexibility and Grip Strength" in 1999 and has since completed over 100 continuing education courses. In 2001 Joanne became a Certified Hand Therapist and has focused on this area of therapy ever since.

Joanne joined E&L in 2007 and has worked in the Eastlake office till the present time. Joanne has been very active in the Arthritis Foundation and has offered numerous in-services related to arthritis and Fibromyalgia. Before beginning her career in therapy, Joanne taught High School math and was a counselor for 15 years before receiving her Master of Arts in both math and counseling. Joanne is a special part of the E&L team and will happily answer any questions about hand therapy or patient care.

Kendra

Kendra Strouse MPT, BS, Senior Physical Therapist

Kendra Strouse has 13 years experience as a licensed Physical Therapist in private practice outpatient clinics. She joined the E&L Associates Physical Therapy team in January 2002 working in the La Mesa office. Since then Kendra has demonstrated extensive skill and ability in both orthopedic and manual therapy, but she has demonstrated particular skill in soft tissue and joint mobilization, MFR, Strain-counter strain, and muscle energy techniques.

Prior to E&L Associates, Kendra worked with the Sunnyvale PRN clinic near San Jose, California. Additionally, Kendra received her Master's Degree in Physical Therapy from Idaho State University and her bachelor's degree from the University of the Pacific. With her clinical experience and educational background, E&L Associates Physical Therapy is proud to have an invaluable therapist like Kendra working in our Eastlake Center.
